Spring 2022- Home Education Students - State Assessment Registration

Please read the following information before registering. By registering, you are agreeing to the requirements listed below.

Please fill out the registration below in order to sign up for the Spring 2022 FSA and/or NGSSS assessments to be administered in April and/or May 2022.

You will be assigned to your zoned school for testing. You will be notified by St. Lucie Public Schools as to your assigned school. You will need to contact your assigned school for your scheduled date/time and other information. You MUST complete all sessions of each test in order to receive a score.

For the Grades 4-10 FSA ELA, you MUST complete the Writing session and 2 sessions of Reading in order to receive an ELA score. There are no separate scores for Writing and Reading. You must be on time on your scheduled date. There will be no makeup dates. If you are not present on time at your scheduled time, you will need to wait until the next FSA or NGSSS administration in Spring 2023.

You MUST be registered with the St. Lucie School District as an active Home Education student in order to test. The address posted in your records will be the one used to assign you to your zoned school for testing. You will only be permitted to test at the school assigned to you by the District. You will not be permitted to make arrangements with other schools for testing.

You will receive information via email as to your assigned school for your testing site. You will then need to contact the school for information regarding your testing date(s) and time(s).

Below are the registration deadlines:

  • Grade 3 Reading: Monday, March 14, 2022
  • Grades 4-10 ELA (Writing & Reading: Monday, March 14, 2022
  • Grades 3-8 Math: Monday, April 4, 2022
  • Grades 5 & 8 Statewide Science Assessment: Monday, April 4, 2022
  • All EOCs: Monday, April 4, 2022

No late registrations will be accepted. You will receive your assigned testing site information/confirmation email by March 21, 2022 (Grade 3 Reading & 4-10 ELA) or April 11, 2022 (Gr 3-8 Math, EOCs, Statewide Science Assessment).

Students (or their parents) must have government issued picture ID (driver license, passport, etc.) in order to be admitted to test. If the student does not have this ID, the parent must have government issued picture ID.

You will need to contact your assigned testing school to find out your scheduled date and time, as well as any specific rules they may have regarding drop off and pickup. Please note that you must follow all the rules for testing, which include the "No electronic devices" and "No leaving campus" policies.

Students cannot leave before their test session allotted time is complete, even if they have completed the session. In addition, students cannot return to complete a session if they left campus prior to completing a session. 

The State has a strict electronic device policy. Students will not be permitted to have any electronic device anywhere within reach during testing. If they are found with any electronic device, whether they use it or not, their test will not be scored. Prior to testing all students will be required to place their phones and other electronic devices in their purse or backpack or at a designated collection site during testing, but will not be able to access their purse/backpack, even during breaks, going to the restroom, etc. until they have completed testing.

Practice Test Requirements

Students are required to practice for any Computer Based Testing PRIOR to testing.
All students taking an FSA CBT assessment must take the applicable FSA or NGSSS Practice Test (prior to arriving to take the test) for the FSA or NGSSS CBT assessments, which include the following:
FSA ELA: (Students MUST take both the Writing and the Reading Practice tests)
Writing: Grades 7-10
Reading Grades 7-10
FSA Math: Grades 7-8
FSA EOCs: Alg 1, Geometry
Please note: Students taking Grade 3 -6 Paper Based FSA ELA and/or FSA Math must complete a PBT Practice Test for that test. Please access the FSA Portal for Practice Test information. Contact FSA (see below) with any questions regarding Practice Tests. The schools will not be providing practice tests to Home Education students.

Important COVID 19 Precautionary Information

Schools will have specific COVID safety policies that must be followed. Please ensure you understand what your assigned school requires, which may include the following:
  • Appropriate facial coverings/masks: Must cover the nose and the mouth at all times.
  • Please check the homepage of the the St Lucie Public Schools website for the COVID19 handbook that provides guidelines for these.
  • Bring water bottle/thermos, as water fountains may not be available.
  • If you have your own headphones (for Grades 7-10 ELA Reading) and/or pencil, please bring those. These will be provided if you do not bring them.

For ELA and Math, you will be registered for your applicable grade level ELA and/or Math. ELA is Grades 3-10, with Reading only for Grade 3, and Reading & Writing for Grades 4-10; Math is Grades 3-8. You cannot take an Alg 1 or Geom EOC AND a grade level Math.
